Coping with exam stress and anxiety
By Mental Health SpecialistMay 4, 20263 min read
Feeling anxious before an exam doesn't mean you're not prepared — it means your body is reacting to something that matters to you. That reaction is normal.
A few things that can help in the moment: slow, deliberate breathing (in for 4 counts, out for 6), naming five things you can see around you, or stepping outside for two minutes of fresh air.
Longer term, breaking study sessions into smaller chunks, sleeping enough, and giving yourself credit for effort — not just results — can lower the everyday baseline of stress.
Our Coping Cards were built exactly for moments like this: quick, practical prompts you can turn to anywhere, anytime, without needing anything but a few seconds.
