Myth vs. fact: sexual health edition
By SRH Program LeadMarch 22, 20265 min read
Myth: You can't get pregnant the first time. Fact: You can. Pregnancy risk depends on the menstrual cycle and timing, not how many times it's happened before.
Myth: Irregular periods always mean something is seriously wrong. Fact: Cycles are often irregular in the first couple of years after they start — though big, sudden changes are worth checking in about.
Myth: Talking about mental health is a sign of weakness. Fact: Recognizing when you need support and asking for it takes real strength — and it's one of the most protective things you can do for yourself.
Myth: If you ask a question, someone will judge you. Fact: Not here. Every question is a fair question, and asking is exactly how you learn.
