Talking to a parent or guardian about SRH
By SRH Program LeadApril 20, 20264 min read
Bringing up sexual or reproductive health with a parent or guardian can feel intimidating — even when you know they care about you.
Starting small can help: 'Can I ask you something that might be a little awkward?' gives them a heads-up and gives you an easy way in.
If an in-person conversation feels like too much right now, that's okay. Writing it down, sending a message, or asking a question during a shared activity (like cooking or a walk) can lower the pressure.
And if you're not ready to talk to a parent at all — that's okay too. You can always start with us, privately, and figure out the next step from there.
